Your Top Questions, Answered

We know you want the best for your garden. Here’s everything you need to know:

What are chicken manure pellets, and how are they made?

Chicken manure pellets are small, nutrient-dense pellets made from dehydrated and heat-treated chicken manure. They retain essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, making them ideal for fertilizing plants.

Are chicken manure pellets safe to use for edible plants?

Yes! Our Soil Smiles™ chicken manure pellets are heat-treated to ensure they’re pathogen-free, making them safe for growing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other edible plants.

How much chicken manure should I apply to my garden?

For most applications, use about 1–2 cups of pellets per square foot of soil. You can adjust this amount based on your plants’ specific needs and the soil’s nutrient levels.

Absolutely! Chicken manure pellets work great in containers and raised beds. Simply mix the pellets into the potting soil or sprinkle on top and water in to help your plants thrive.

For most applications, use about 3/4 cup –1.5 cups of pellets per 10 square feet of soil. You can adjust this amount based on your plants’ specific needs and the soil’s nutrient levels.  See our User Guide for plant specific application rates. Always water thoroughly.
