Transplanting:
Small shrubs (like those that come in 1-gallon pots):A handful (about 1/4 cup) mixed into the backfill soil is a good starting point
Larger shrubs (3-gallon pots and up): You can increase this to about 1/2 cup.
Small trees (under 6 feet): About 1 cup mixed into the backfill soil.
